Providing a foundation for urban regeneration
The Investors in the Community (IIC) Programme innovative projects have been the foundation for acclaimed urban regeneration schemes. Its progress in this sector has been based on the imaginative delivery of ‘mixed use’ developments where learning or cultural facilities provide a focal point for the local community.
The Investors in the Community Programme master plan for the redevelopment of the Jubilee Quarter in Brighton has been hailed as an “exemplar of urban regeneration” by the Government’s Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment. The centerpiece, the Jubilee Library, has won numerous awards since its opening in 2005, including the prestigious Prime Minister’s Better Public Building Award and the Observer Ethical Building of the Year Award.
The Miles Platting Housing schemes entail the refurbishment and renewal of 1,600 properties in the East Manchester area – a regeneration partnership with Manchester City Council. The scheme has won two housing regeneration ‘Oscars’.
“We knew that we could trust the people we worked with at Investors in the Community and in turn, they knew we were behind them.”
